Especially since they've been reminded of the outcome when chitcago tried to ban gun ranges, there needs to be a means to make gov't officials financially responsible for the legal costs of doing stupid **** like this. If not, there's no disincentive for them to continue abusing their authority, and forcing the public to pay--on both ends--to defend civil rights.

I suspect the courts in NJ will side with whatever comes out of it.

I heard people were complaining about our gun ranges in Columbus...wonder how long it is before someone tries an end run in to the City or something to shut them(it) down. It might scare the children and stuff.

My former, SGTMaj, lives and works in Columbus,

and I was under the impression, that the one

range, by the airport, had been shut down

    long ago .....

    Right here.
NJ IMO is full of progressive snowflakes, and this article offers more proof of the how moronic a lot of the folks (not all) who live there are. I actually went to NJ once...I didn't like it.

There are two ranges by the airport. One is an indoor range owned by the local gun club and as far as I know is still used. The other is an outdoor range and is leo only and is still used.

Understood. It just struck me how it stood out in that article that the official seemed to have no doubt he could get free legal representation before he even precipitated that legal confrontation. I would have thought 'big law' would want to be involved in cases that turned on more broad constitutional issues than zoning (relative to 2A, abuse of government authority is a different issue that should always be confronted). It makes me wonder which came first, the legal conundrum or the offer of legal aid. Was the enactment of the restriction a form of trolling conservatives

    what gun ranges in Columbus?

CPD has one in town, plus Hoosier Hills Rifle and Pistol Club has an indoor range near the airport. The building is actually airport property and is rented / leased to HHRP.

HHRP also has an outdoor range around Gnawbone, down Camp Menuto (sp?) Rd.
