Over heard at Bradis today...

Stopped by Bradis really quick. bad idea on a Saturday if you are int eh mood to 'browse'! Anyway, there was a younger looking guy behind the counter who when asked by a customer what the difference between a gun marked ".38 Taurus lightweight" and a regular .38 Special was, well, he had to look around a bit before he told the guy it would shoot any .38 Special ammo. A few minutes later, I heard him telling a lady howsafe a pistol was. I think it was a Glock, but not sure. He told her that it was so safe that he loaded one and threw it down the rage to prove it wouldn't 'go off'! He told her it was OK, because he was at the range and was being safe! i must admit, that I've been fairly impressed with the good help beind the counter at Bradis, but this moron seemed to break that mold! It was a fairly young, cute girl he was talking to, so I don't knwo if his hormones got in the way or not, but it was a bad moment for normal gun owners, regardless.
Mark, you need to teach this kid a thing or two!

Umm, Bradis doesn't have a range. Was he telling a story about something he supposedly did, or did he actually load the gun and throw it down in the shop while you were there?

Guys I just surmise he was trying to impress the little lady. I cringe when I accidently drop one of my parts while cleaning. I sure wouldn't fast ball it down a range.

No, he didn't axctually throw it in thh store. Hell, he'd have hit three or four people whichever direction he could have tossed it! He said he did it at the range. I don't know if this is the 'range' in his mom's basement where he lives, or the magical imaginary range in his head. I can't imagine anyone putting up with that kind of behavour on a real range!

I've been in classes where the instructor has done this, but it was with a cocked but completely unloaded Glock.

I heard an instructor say the same thing. Not that he'd actually done it, but that you could do it and it'd be perfectly safe. Which is true, but it would be gun abuse!

I also love to have fun sometimes and interrupt when I see things like that by saying things like "excuse me, have you got any of the 29 mm revolvers from glock yet?) just to hear the response, if they answer "no" but we will have em soon, I just walk away, if they say something like "they do not make a 29mm) I reply, "well my brother in law just bought one at XYZ!

You're supposed to wait until after you run out of rounds before chucking the Glock at your target.
