-1. OK, I'm a female and spent quite a bit of time deciding on my first handgun. Spent hours scanning/reading this website (which I have found extremely helpful, btw

i) . Decided a Mark III 22/45 would be a nice ice breaker. Chose Ranger based on location and comments I found on this forum. Was (probably) visibly nervous when I walked in. They had a Ruger in the display case but it wasn't the 22/45 model. Russ went into back room to check availability of model I wanted and left me with some kid out front who professed no knowlege of or interest in Ruger 22's. Russ yelled a few answers to my questions to the kid without showing his face again. I've seen comments about H&H being click-ish (sp) and Ranger has got to be as bad if not worse. Anyway, after being told that the model I wanted wasn't available (I was hoping to establish a relationship with the store) I verified they would do the ffl transfer so I went home and bought one on Gunbroker. Well, they made the store in PA fax THEIR ffl before they would provide theirs and the gun arrived at their store per USPS tracking on a Monday morning. I went in Monday afternoon and was told it hadn't arrived. Come Tues when the USPS website was updated with the Monday morning delivery info I called and was thrown directly to voice mail where I left that info. It was like 3:00 when I called and they are open til 7:00. Have been in the store 4 times and it isn't like there are people crowding in there so they are too busy to return a call in their last 4 hrs of business!! They didn't return my call til Wed (today) to tell me 'it was in'. No apology or explanation about my Monday visit and why they didn't give me the gun then....IT WAS THERE!!! It was obvious they didn't want my business. I understand the value of building a relationship but they put those legos away when I walked in. I surely won't darken their door again and suggest anyone else who is new to handguns and isn't in the market for a BIG macho gun to find some other store. I did, thanks to Russ's surliness and think it's the best kept secret in NE Ind. Hillside Shooting in Roanoke. In fact, got myself a S&W 642-2 there today with PINK grips at a terrific price. Asked a bunch of stupid questions which were answered as if they weren't.
