Don's guns

While spending the day in Indy, I went and picked up my new Springfield XD-9 subcompact from Bob at Plainfield Shooting Supplies.

Also went to Bradis to look around, cuz I like them, too - and have bought a couple from them recently.

Just for grins, the wife and I wanted to go to Don's guns for laughs. And seriously, I mean laughs. We wanted to go becasue after we have both bought several guns, we've become very familiar with what certain guns should be selling for.

Walked in, and surprisingly, the place wasn't busy. I found myself questioning whether or not it was Saturday or Christmas Day.

Nevertheless, we walked in and went straight for the holsters.

Uncle Mike's size 16 - $29.99 - WHOA!
Fobus paddle holster - $39.99 - WHOA!

Okay, I'm having a good time now. So we walk over to the guns... revolvers first.

Not only did they not have squat (debunking Don's saying "Remember folks, it's always cheaper somewhere else when they don't have it; we have it in stock") but what they did have they were insane.

Smith 642 - MSRP $600; Don's $799. Look out!
Taurus Ultra Lite .38 - none in stock. but can order for us. MSRP $488; Don's $649

Okay, that's enough of that...

I bought my Springfield today for $469 - Don's had it, too! And only $699!

How about an LCP with Crimson Trace grips for only $899?

Then I saw what absolutely blew my mind. I checked out the Glock case, as I have been thinking about picking up a G19.

Don's had one; with the Crimson Trace grips. I'll assume it's completely okay to charge Crimson's $269 MSRP (which is still ridiculous)...

Wait for it... wait for it...

$1050.00 for a G19 w/CT grips? Are you kidding me? It was then that a "salesperson" finally asked if I wanted to see anything. I kinda chuckled, saying no, and promptly left.

It boggles my mind that they even sell pepper spray, much less guns.

And it's alarming that they're usually busy and people are walking out with guns they purchased from Don's

Last time I was in there for the range, I saw a G23 w/ night sites for $789!! Now that I've checked out Pops, I have no use for Don's.

Ummmm....... Pop's isn't much better. They're starting to be known as "Don's East" around here. You owe it to yourself to check out PSS, Bradis, KS&E, Beech Grove Firearms, and some of the better shops in the greater Indy area. Pop's used to be a good shop with reasonable prices, but not anymore.

PSS will get my business. I was stating that the only reason I had to go to Dons was the range, and Pops fills that need.
