What is the going price for new WASR 10 AK's? I am looking at getting a new double stack and getting back into the AK platform and like the WASR just fine but not opposed to the other models. However, I don't know what they are usually going for anymore so any help is appreciated.

I looked at them at the 1500 yesterday. Prices ranged right around $450. The Saigas in comparable calibers are starting to get right in there; saw several 5.45 x 39 & 5.45 x 45 for $475.

if you're patient you can find private sales for 400 pretty regularly.....I got one that had sat idle for years, hardly used at all and came with 5 mags and 600 rounds for $400....a steal in my book...just gotta be patient and stay on top of current prices to know what a good deal is when you do come across it

I bought a WASR at Midwest maybe a month ago for $350. It was when they were running their specials for $399 for one without bayonet lug and threaded barrel and $429 for one with lug and threaded barrel.

Mine has both and was on the used racks marked at $399, I was happy with $350, saved $80 for the same gun.

Hey, if you get one check the barrel first. The older ones still have chrome but there was recently (within the last 3-4 years) a ban on importing the barrels and newer builds have unlined barrels. At least on the CAI builds, not even sure if anyone else builds WASR10s.

You're pretty handy, aren't you, IrishFan? Get a Saiga and do the conversion.
That is a thought and something that sounds like fun. I still have my machinist tools so that should make things easier.

    Thanks for the tip!

400 + tax at dunhams is pretty standard. They usually have a couple others there for 450 with underfolders too.
