The classic savage model 24 is no longer produced.

I think bakial makes one and that is about it unless i am mistaken. am sure there are lots of those savage 24 around but i have seen for sale in years. It is kinda a gun everyone can say. I think i will keep this one.

You can get what you want made, you are just going to pay for it.

Merkel, Kreighoff, Sauer and a dozen other European makers.

Yes, Sure you could get a drilling also. It has beeen a while since i looked at Merkel, Kreighoff, Sauer guns or saw one for sale. It is kinda a gun everyone can say. I think i will keep this one. I did see a pretty merkel at 500 guns and I will admit it was nice. I could also get a nice used truck for the price of it.

The simple working man's savage model 24. no euro trash needed.

Ask around for the savage. I think it is what you want. They made lots of them for lots of years. I would not call them rare. Lots of them were 22 mag over 20 also.

You can always look for a used Savage O/U. I have one I bought about 25 years ago. I also had a .223/ 12ga that I wish I had never sold.

i used to do a lot of rabbit and squirrel hunting and you can't beat the savage combo. the one drawback is that this sucker is really heavy. there are several for sale on gunbroker.com right now.

Years and years ago, I had a Savage model 24 in .22LR/.410.
Being an idiot in my youth, I sold it.

About 10 years ago I decided I was going to replace that gun.
I found one for sale, and it was in a little nicer shape than the one I got rid of.

It was also 3 times what I paid for the first one.

I will NOT be getting rid of this one.

Always wanted one of these. Look like a handy piece. What gauge/caliber combos did they come in?

    MANY different flavors!
    .22LR/.410
    .22L/20ga
    .22 (LR or mag)/12 ga.

    and so on...

they even made a few o/u double rifles I believe, but I do't know if those were 24's.
