I have a Savage Model 11 hog hunter which comes from the factory with a 4 round blind magazine. Is it possible to convert that to a bottom opening or even a replaceable mag?

Savages don't really come in Remington BDL-style hinging bottom metal, but yes you could convert to a detachable magazine. You would need three things:

    1. detachable bottom metal, either Savage factory or aftermarket from CDI or Accurate-Mag.

    2. magazines to fit the aforementioned bottom metal

    3. a replacement stock (be it aftermarket inletted for the selected DBM or a factory stock already inletted for factory DBM) **or** have the factory Hog Hunter stock inletted. I'd highly recommend a replacement stock, as the factory tupperware stock is junk IMO.
