    Used Mossberg 500 price?

Found a used in good condition Mossberg 500 at a pawn shop today. From what I can tell it had the 26" barrel and looked to be in good condition.

    Two things:

    1) how much is too much. It was marked 150.
    2) Are there a few tests I can do to make sure its a good gun?

    Thanks everyone!

if it looked good then 150 is a really good price....
put the safe on... pull trigger...safety works check
put on fire... pull trigger and HOLD to the rear... hear hammer fall check
    pump the action
SLOWLY release trigger (you have been holding it to the rear since you pulled the trigger... hear metalic click of sear resetting check...
insert snap caps and cycle action... all rounds cycle and eject... check....
walk out with your new gun.... you can also check for play in the stock trigger guard barrel... magazine tube cap is on tight... follower in the magazine tube doesnt stick.....
    hope that helps

also fire....and hold trigger down... then cycle the action and make sure it doesnt SLAM fire.... dont know if this is an issue with well used 500's or not.... and once you charge it you should not be able to charge it again withough either pulling the trigger or activating the bolt release... make sure both of those are functioning correctly as well.

If the gun checks out its a really good price. There's a shop here with 2 used Mossberg 500's and they are priced about $215-230. Snatch that bad boy up.

went back today. I think I got a he** of a deal. It was in better shape than I thought and has a ported barrel? If anyone is local they have a lot of what seems to be underpriced long guns considering our current enviroment.

    Thanks!

south bend indiana. Several rem 870s from $160, a springfield 12 ga for $100, a few more mossy 500s less than 200 bucks. 22 rifles from $49 (pos) no handguns that I was really excited about, but the hood its in dosent look like they would sell a lot of kimbers either.
