223 out to a MILE?!

I found this write up really interesting. I've been drooling over precision .308 rifles for a while, but apparently .223 can go the distance!

It's more about how much knockdown power you want once the bullet gets there. For that distance I'd recomend .308 or my favorite .300 win mag!

Very interesting and, at least in my feeble mind, a real myth buster for the .30 caliber preachers. This is target shooting not playing "sniper". If you read far enough you will find the author speaking to terminal velocity and energy, neither of which matter one iota if you can't make the hit or your target is paper, rock, or steel.
