So as I lay in bed on a Friday night, the thought creeps into my head. I have a mini-ACOG, the TA44. It has a 1.5x magnification. Could I use an Eotech 3x magnifier either in front of it or behind it to get more magnification? Do they line up? Will I get a distorted image? Also, if it would work, could I technically put the magnifier behind the ACOG? As in, looking through the ACOG first, and then through the magnifier? I'm no optical engineer, so if the idea is "face palm" worthy, by all means let me know.

Well, I've seen night vision stacked with magnifying optics, presumably to get a reticle on the night vision. I'd think the 3x would go in front (toward the end with the hole in it), then you can adjust it front to back for focus/eye relief if necessary. A set of shims should get them lined up if they're not. I couldn't comment on distortion, but I wouldn't expect much. Sometimes you just have to try it out.

It's an expensive project to just "try out" so I'm unsure if I'll go through with it or not. Was hoping someone else would have an ACOG and a magnifier and could check for me. Haha.

Not sure how well the magnifier would work behind it but I'm sure it wouldn't work in front of it. Any magnifier I've seen has had very little eye relief. It's the main reason I took mine and the red dot off of my AR and got the vortex strike eagle.
