Looking into getting my first 5.56 platform rifle. I'm really intrigued by both the PWS MK116 and the SIG MCX. The PWS has a little more history and is a little more proven at this point, but the MCX is getting some great early reviews. Anyone have a strong case to make for one over the other?

In all reality, it probably won't see more than range use. However, would like it to stand up to class use or three gun if I ever get interested.

I know I could get that from a $500 M&P 15, but my mind is stuck on these. Could also be convinced of the LMT piston offering as well. They're all in essentially the same price range.

Never had the chance to shoot a PWS before, but have shot the MCX in both 5.56 and 300BLK. The MCX is a real cool rifle, I like the design and one in 7.62x39 might be pretty interesting
