If there is a kit, or a part, or something that can convert an SKS to accept AK mags? I would REALLY like to have something like this so I can convert my SKS to a Combat Folder rifle, but I want it to take AK mags.

    Anyone have any idea?

yeah, that's more work than what I'm willing to put in. Besides, my Gunsmith-Fu is weak when it comes to Kalashnikov variants.

I'll look into getting a SKS-D of some kind.

    In a Nut shell, NO.

Both the D and M models of Norinco SKS used AK mags.
The receiver of a standard SKS is to narrow to use AK mags.

It can be done with a good machine shop, but will cost more than the rifle is worth.

DC Engineering used to sell a kit to convert to "Non Duckbill Hi-Cap Mags" for the SKS. The mags were propriatary and $80 ea.

D and M model SKS's can be had for approx $350 on gunbroker and auction arms.

For more info go to Survivor's SKS Boards - Index and do a search.
Do Not ask this question on the boards unless you have very thick skin.:bash:

I used to collect SKS's but sold them in preference for the AK.
I still hang out on the SKS boards.
