M40A1 build

Here are pictures of my M40A1 sniper build. Started with Rem700 SS mil spec barreled 24” rifle. Painted with Duracoat (grey/green) park color added the McMillan USMC M40 stock and the Redfield M40 tribute scope and this is what you get. Not as righteous as one of the GA or TBA builds but about 1/2 the cost and (Obama not withstanding) I did it myself.

I’m in the process of breaking in the barrel and will post some targets at a later time.

Very nice. I put one together years ago with a USMC return stock, 6 digit serial numbered receiver, Schneider M40 barrel and a US Optics Unertl MST-100 and reproduction mount. Being the lucky guy that I am I mounted the scope (final piece I was waiting on) the day they informed me that my property taxes were doubling and I never got to fire a round through it in that configuration. Pulled it apart and sold the scope, mount and stock. That was a significant heartbreak.
