Which AR?

Decided to get our son an AR for Christmas, the way I see it the adjustable stock will be perfect for now and later. Budget is about $700. He is 12 now, and very responsible. I would like to get the best value, with the following being important.

1 Made in the US
2 Iron sights
3 lifetime warranty

Suggestions please.

I would strongly consider the Smith & Wesson M&P Sport II. I believe it hits all required points on your list except the warranty and their a very nice rifle and you'd have enough coin left in your budget to get him some mags and ammo for his stocking as well!

I didn't know anyone offered a lifetime warranty on a $700 AR.
Colt's Expanse can be bought for that. I've got one. It's an excellent shooter and solid.

Beats me. Rumors abound that Anderson makes some of the parts. When I examined one, I saw the usual markings as well, though the clerk wouldn't let me put the bcg

The S&W M&P 15 is a solid cost effective AR that you can easily get for that budget.

if you are at all handy, you can assemble one for this price and make sure you get all USA parts.

I've seen bare uppers and lowers from Anderson with the Cerra Keyhole stamps. They look good.

I'm leery until the Saint gets a few miles on them so we can get some honest reviews on them.

I saw one on the rack at Fort Liberty. Didn't seem like a bad rifle.

I picked up an M&P Sport II last month and think it's the bee's knees. Find it on sale and save another $50-$100. Cool thing being it's a 5.56 barrel.

I've held one Saint at my lgs, seemed nice for a factory m4ish rifle. Methinks price was $849

Anderson also uses receivers from Brass Forgings. I've seen several with the square forge mark.
