Finally got to bring home a rifle I've have been wanting for a very long time. Knowing Ill never be able to afford a real SVD Dragunov this is gonna be as close as Ill probably come to owning one of my own, and everything I've read about them they sure don't disappoint in person. Cant wait to get the initial review video done and uploaded on my channel about it, but I don't think I've ever been so excited for a new gun and just had to share. After talking with a fellow INGOr that had one of these it pretty much cemented in the fact I was gonna finally get one after putting it off for so long, like everything else Russian firearm wise they seem to be going up in price so I figured it was now or never. I think the one thing that caught me kind of by surprise was how light the rifle is out of the box, I guess given the size of the round I figured the rifle would be heavier. I will say all the reviews and the literature I've read on these is correct they look and feel like a quality piece. the finish is amazing and the stock set is very nice all be it a little short in the LOP department (this will be changed out for a SVD stock set at some point) Anyone else shoot a VEPR, how do you like yours?...........

These have been on my want list for a long time too. I'd also prefer an SVD but their prices have gone out of my range. I've even been stocking up on non-corrosive 54R in anticipation of getting one. :): I'd probably be happy with a 308 version too, but I like the idea of the more "traditional" caliber.

Yea same here I was thinking 308 also but already have an LR308 and I wanted it in more a traditional flavor myself. Cant wait to get the SVD furniture on it, it will be close enough to a SVD for me ;)

I have two of the Vepr in 308 with 23" barrel. Just so you know Hoppe's No. 9 will remove the finish, it is a spray paint. The 308 is a double stack, 5 and 10 rounds. They are built on a RPK 1.5 receiver. It shoots fine but will dent the casing, (hits the receiver cover). I intend to turn one into a PSL clone, complete with a POSP scope. Happy shooting.

Man, I'm seriously jealous. A VEPR has been on my list for years now. I honestly just need to man up and save up. I always say, "well, it's too much money." then buy other gun stuff. Did you get the threaded barrel? What kind of scope do you have on it?

EDIT: Where did you pick yours up at if you don't mind my asking?

I don't how many of these questions are aimed at me or OP:

Accuracy: about 1.5MOA with light ball ammo.
    Scope: POSP 3-9x42
From: Centerfire a few years ago

Mine is the 20" model with the squareback and integrated sights. I wanted a scary black DMR and this version was cheaper (the original unfinished wood was garbage). The threads are hidden under the cap and require careful dremel work to expose. My front stock is from CSS and the muzzle device is the tabuk from Nodak.
