![]() ![]() ![]() | 10/22 Plastic or Metal Trigger and Guard Ok guys, I have decided to build me a 10/22 as another host for my coming Outback II silencer so that I have a rifle platform for this along with the P22. Is the new plastic OK or should I find an older one with metal trigger and trigger guard? Please speak up. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is my uneducated opinion... Polymer trigger guards and triggers on pistols > than the same on a rifle. Especially a "produced by the hundreds of thousands" like the 10/22. -J-

| Check your 6 ![]() | I have hear a few complaints about rough and heavy trigger pulls even after installing the VQ target hammer on the plastic trigger groups. I would look around for a metal one

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Go with metal if you can find it. The 10/22 RR models I got this summer had metal. The carbine had plastic. The trigger return spring is much grabbier on the plastic. I don't know if this will go away, but it feels terrible.

![]() | Nothing wrong with plastic I didn't see anything in your forums rules disallowing commercial posters. Please delete if this is not so. Generally speaking, there is nothing wrong with the new plastic housings. I personally prefer the older metal ones which is why I contacted Ruger to see if they would make some of the old ones for us. They did and they're finally here.
