CZ 452 American 16" 22lr range report: 15 types of ammo

Got out to the range today after owning the rifle for exactly 4 weeks
without shooting it. Getting scope rings with an acceptable fit was a
fiasco due to the CZ american models having an oddball "3/8 inch" rail. I
am beyond that now though and ready to test out 15 different kinds of
    ammo.

    Setup:
Rifle - CZ 452 american 16" threaded barrel
Scope - Bushnell 3200 10x40 fixed power mil dot reticle
    Rings - Talley 100005 0.5" tall

    Front and rear bags

Ammo info: (7 shot 8/5 and 8 types more soon)

Nice post. .22LR is so cheap (though maybe not as in years past), it is good to stock it deep. Looks like Wolf is pretty decent.

Oh, can you tell us which brands were copper (or anything for that matter) plated vs. plain lead bullet?

    south of richmond in
good report, looks like wolf it is.

actually it looks like american eagle and wolf. you were at .88moa @100yds with the american eagle and .69 at 50 with wolf. in a perfect world that would mean wolf wins but with a 22 it doesn't take much wind to move a bullet. id retry both at the same range on the same day and see what happens

Fantastic shooting my friend! This is the very kind of information that forums such as this exist to pervey. If only more members were so pro-active as you.

Pretty nice. I haven't been out to shoot my 16" 452 but my 452 Varmint shoots quite well, as does my LUX.

PS; do you still have a VR6?

Check the style column. LRN lead round nose, CPHP copperplated hollow point, etc.

Yeah I plan on trying to shoot the barrel out on this one I just am having a hard time getting to the range with the stupid work thing. I think I short changed the wolf and I plan on shooting some more when I go back.

    Used to have a VR6:

Thanks for that info. I knew what JHP and FMJ stood for, but I had never seen LRN, CPHP, and CHP. I was looking for copper plated rounds because I heard it helps with leading issues....can anyone confirm this?

Nice work! My 452 Varmint, when I had it, really liked the American Eagle as well.

I think that ammo is a 'sleeper'. Seems to do well in several firearms.

Added 8 more types of ammo. The Fed auto match really surprised me. It shoots very consistent and I'll be stocking up on it very soon. If you look at the "Eley Target" picture under the "r" that is where I shot a moth that landed on the target.

    Cz 452 american = $448.19
    Bushnell 10x 40 scope = $169+ shipping
killing a moth at 100 yds = Priceless

I have two CZ 22 rifles, one 453 and 452. they are the best 22 cal rifle for the money they cost, it would take 1500 or better to buy a new rifle that shoots as well. my rifles seem to like Laupue 22 shells the best.
