    Fellas,

I just did it 2 hours ago....

Picked up the LMT 308 MWS and I've been waiting for its release for a while! Unfortunately, due to the cost, I was forced to sell my FN-Scar L (556) to get her. It's ok I have a Colt 556 /.223. Here is some info and pictures :rockwoot:she has the Aimpoint CompM4 mounted with a GripPod. I will let you know how she shoots when I get a chance to get out to the range. :ingo: Would appreciate any recommendations on other optics, upgrades, etc.

I'm personally not a fan of the grip-pod. With your Aimpoint I'd go to a more traditional stubby VFG.

If you scoped it for longer ranges I'd go with a dedicated bipod, like a Harris in LaRue QD mount.

But that's just me. <---- super jealous! :ingo:

I believe I'd soil myself twice if I was you:
    1) First range trip when it really sinks in that you own it.
    2) When the credit card statement comes in the mail with the rifle and first ammo purchase listed.

I don't know if I should just envy you or start sucking up to be your new best friend. That is fantastic! I'm off to the classifieds to sell everything I own.

Totally agree, I'd likely scope it for longer, definitely with a dedicated bipod.

That is awesome. I'm not wild about the grip pod, but it's your gun and still very impressive!

What are you looking to do with that? Long range or up close tactical type shooting?

Personally I like to reach out as far as I can with everything I've got so I'd at least try out a fixed 10x mildot and see what it'll do for accuracy and distance.

That is an awesome rifle. I want to read a range report about how well it shoots asap.

I like the grip pod concept, but I will admit to being in the minority on that issue.

    :hijack:

IMO, its meant to serve two purposes, but it's not particularly good at either.

It's too big, bulky, and heavy for a VFG; and it's not as collapsible as a dedicated bipod.
