![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Winchester 1890 Does anyone here know anything about a Winchester 1890 22 rifle? I just cleaned up a 22 short that was made in 1917. Took me a while to figure out how to take it apart. The firing pin stop is broken right at the rear screw on the bolt. What is the purpose of the rear part of it? I took it apart and cleaned it up real well and put it back together and test fired it. I'm half deef and after I fired the first round, I thought it didn't fire. I racked the slide back and saw that the round fired. I thought for sure it was a dud so before I fired the next round, I put a light at the chamber to make sure it wasn't stuck in the barrel. It was okay. I shot it a total of 15 times and it was okay. I just don't have much experience with 22 shorts. They are quiter than 22 lr subsonics. |
