![]() ![]() ![]() | What caliber Savage 111 to buy? Just curious on what caliber everyone likes as an all around caliber for a savage 111 bolt? I could possibly see myself doing some hunting trips in the future, like to target shoot at atterbury, maybe a longer range SHTF gun. I already have a 30-30 336, but never shot a 30-06, .270 etc. I see some Savage 111 pachages at dicks with accutrigger in 30-06, .270. Don't see any .308s. I guess I am leaning toward 30-06. Recoil harsh? Would it be in a savage with composite stock = light gun? Thanks |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I think I have settled on this Savage Model 11GCNS in .308 caliber. Should be a fun target gun and servce any hunting purposes in the future. Any thoughts? I like the accutrigger option and the wood. It looks nice. .308 a good round? ![]() |
