Hi-Point 9mm Carbine

Can anyone tell my about the Hi-Point 9mm Carbine? I think it is a model 995. I could of bought one at a show last week used for $185 with one clip but looked a little rough. I have found another one for $235 with two clip. Are they any good? I know you get what you pay for but this is cheap. I don't want it for home land secruity just target shooting.

I saw one at the 1500 and they was asking $255 used.
I certainly wouldn't pay any more than that, I bet if you look long enough, you can find a deal.

Hi-point 9 was made to be a low price reliable gun. My buddy has one that works well and is fun to shoot. I myself prefer a revolver but Hi-point 9 is cheaper still good quality

I had one. Sold it. There's a great aftermarket stock for it. If you see one cheap, don't turn it down even if it doesn't work. The company will make good on all parts and functions regardless of whether you're the first owner or the tenth. Flawless customer service.

I'd have bought that carbine at 185 without missing a beat.

You ought to be able to find a used one for around 200 bucks. They are called magazines not clips by the way.

I bought a used one several years ago for $130. It looked a little beat up and was dirty but for $130 and with that warranty, what the heck. After a little TLC, I took it to the range. It is amazingly accurate for a little "junk" rifle and it feeds anything I can find. I recently fitted it with a cheap red dot sight. I didn't know that I could shoot that well. It is just a fun gun.

Sorry i did't use the right terms. I will try and do better next time. I know what I can buy one for. I really just wanted to hear from someone that had one. I mainly was asking if the gun was halfway reliable. Thanks you for your reply.

My dad has one with a red-dot on it, and it's freakily accurate.. and he got his for $129 NEW a couple years ago..

When considering the carbines you can look past the name "high point" as that name does this gun injustice. many of people have been pleasantly surprised by the great value this gun can bring to the table.
