CVA Muzzleloader Catastrophic Failures

I've read other articles on CVA muzzleloaders blowing up. I think they fixed them, but I'm still never gonna buy one.

Buy once, cry once. Own several muzzleloaders but have never considered a CVA or any other el cheapo gun for that matter.

Wow, i had never heard about any of that. I never thought of CVA as an el-cheapo muzzle loader. But that is really really scary.

I've been thinking about getting a muzzleloader. After reading an article on chuckhawks.com, I'll never buy a CVA.

My father-in-law recommends Thompson/Center. I've also been looking at the Cabela's Hawken. Does anyone know anything about this muzzleloader?

I read down to the part where it said....

"Plaintiff....was himself guilty of negligence which was a substantial factor in causing and contributing to the alleged injuries..." and in the Sixth Defense (page 5) state that "Plaintiffs' injuries were caused by misuse, modifications or alterations of the firearm..."

Followed by....

"Plaintiffs' injuries were caused by misuse, modifications or alterations of the firearm..." Defendant, in their Answers to the the Complaint, Thirteenth Defense (page 4) state that "Plaintiff's claims are barred by the doctrine of unclean hands and on the grounds that plaintiffs' accident occourred as the direct and proximate result of plaintiffs' violation of law."

The same reason beautiful firearms are stamped with those hideous "warning" labels. People disregard operating instructions and don't use common sense. Stupid actions often result in catastrophic results. You don't screw something up, misuse it, disregard common safety practices and then expect money because you do dumb things. This may or may not have been the issue in all the examples given....but if I had to bet....
