![]() ![]() ![]() | Remington 597 VTR I seen a Remington VTR and thought it was pretty cool. It is a 597 0n an AR format. Was wondering though if it would be better to get another 10/22 and put it on like a Tapco stock? Would like to have a tactical style rim fire. I already have a few ruger extended mags so that would be one purchase down. Whatcha think? ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have a 597. I have not had any problems what so ever. The high cap mags did not work so well, but other then that it's been flawless. Just as good as any 10/22 I have ever shot.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That sir is correct. Mine is very accurate, and reliable to boot. It has feed bulk, sub sonics, and cci's no problem. The only ammo I have had problems with is golden bullets. I would take it over any stock 10/22, any day of the week, month, or year!

![]() ![]() ![]() | I love the 597. However the 597 VTR is one of the worst POS I have seen in a long time. DO this next time you see one. Clear the gen and then set it stock down on the counter in front of you with the top facing you. Grab the bun by the Free float tube then with your other hand push on the left or right side of the barrel. Try to sniffle the laughter/terror in your voice as you watch the barrel easily move to the left and right and stay there resting against the side of the free float tube. |
