![]() | Hi-Point 9mm Carbine opinions? Hello, I've been kicking around picking up a 9mm Hi-Point carbine. They are ugly as hell, but If they're reliable and I can hit a beer can at 50 yards, I can overlook it's fugly appearance. ![]() Seriously, What do you guys think of them? Those of you that own one, what ammo do you recommend that feeds reliably? It's going to be used just for fun at the range. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have one and it's a great little carbine for it's intent. Buy one, and for a few reasons: Price They're so ugly, they're cool. Not too terrible ergonomics. Accurate at a reasonable range Customer service, should you need it, is almost as good as Henry Repeating Arms service. Lifetime warranty. Mine has been very reliable. Fun I have mostly shot WWB 115 gr solids. It will feed and fire accurately 147 gr Winchester Silvertips. No kidding, it's been one of my better "value" purchases. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They are great little plinkers! The lack of a hi-cap magazine is my biggest peeve, but mine shoots fantastic for a $100 gun. Yep, a friend took one in as a trade for $100, lent it to me to shoot and I badgered him for the next three months to sell that ugly sucker to me. The fool did... I have great friends. He ended up getting himself another one afterwards. Once I have some more mad-money saved up, I am going to grab another and try to adapt some sort of folding stock to it for a compact truck gun. Then I want the HK lookalike aftermarket stock for the other, just because it looks so much better. Grab one, I think there are one or two for sale here on the board. You won't be dissapointed. Stick with factory magazines and the carbine will eat hollowpoints, cast, and FMJ all the same. Stay away from the ProMag magazines. They are horrible, will jam and misfeed on FMJ. Call the factory and get several mag release catch/spring, firing pin/spring for spares. Those are the weak points. Once you learn to take it apart once or twice, it is pretty simple. Not fast by any means, it is not a combat weapon that can be field stripped in the dark.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I love mine. I have an ATI stock on it. Runs on anything you feed it. You can get promags to tun with a LOT of work. No really worth it for the 5 extra rounds. My only gripe is that NO ONE mags a high cap mag for them. Since these pics were taken I have installed a custom made barrel shroud. I will get more pics of it if you want. ![]() ![]()

Agreed...heck, I really don't care what it looks like, it is fun to shoot, I don't care if someone sees me shooting it either...my pride is built from within, not from what others say
