My project

Here's a pic of my latest project. It is a Marlin 336 30-30. I have put a XS lever rail and ghost ring sight on it. The next step will be cutting the barrel down to 16.250 inches. I have not decided if I want synthetic stocks or not. What does everybody think?

You should leave that pretty lever alone and just buy an AR15 if that's what you want! Just sayin'!

Benjamin will become famous soon enough
I like it the way it is. Keep the barrel full length and keep the wooden stock. That is my opinion. However, it is your gun and you should do whatever you want to do.

My opinion is to leave the barrel as is and keep the wood furniture. Why lose muzzle velocity(shorter barrel) and why synthetic when the wood looks great?

I agree, keep the wood. If you want to change one that much you should sell that one and buy one that is beat up and needs a new stock.

just saying...

I too once considered a "Rural Assault Rifle" project using a Winchester 30-30.

Here is a thread you will want to read:

I'd leave it like that. I wouldn't cut the barrel, or change the wood. Only thing I'd do after adding the optic of your choice, is put on one of the big loop levers so you can be like the Rifleman!

I wouldn't go synthetic... still love tricked out lever guns though.

Still, making a "black rifle" out of something it's not is like...

A man dressed up in drag. Where is that picture of Joe Williams again??

I agree with everyone else. Buy a saiga ak if you want that.
