bolt 7.62x39

There is a CZ 527 in 7.62x39 for sale right now in the classifieds.

The Interarms Mini Mark X/Remington 799 has been offered in 7.62x39 as well.


I've got 7.62x39 Savage 10/110 prethreaded drop in barrels in inventory most of the time.

I have oneI purchased it about 13 years ago from Century arms.
It is based on a small ring Mauser action, That is the only thing that isn't new...but refinished. new barrel,stock etc. Only 20 rounds down the pipe.

Ruger chambered thier m77's in the 7.62x39 for a little while. I guess thier fairly rare and are always a bit more pricey when you find them. Here is an interesting one:

The handi rifles were chambered in it too.

Pretty sure if you look hard enough, you can get mauser barrels in the x39. I've come across a few here and there. That'd make a nice little rifle on a small ring action.

I recently traded off a CZ527 and with good ammo it would shoot ragged one-holers at 100 yards. Very nice gun, but that was the problem... The wood was beautiful on it and I just didn't like to use it much cause I didn't want to beat it up. Ended getting rid of it because of that. Sort of a catch 22... getting rid of a gun because it's too nice.

Just curious... Which bolt head does that use? Standard/.308? Which mag would work also? I've done a few Savage barrels swaps, but never thought of that one. What'da charge for one of those? I'm poor right now, but maybe something I'd consider sometime.

I open up 223 bolts. SharpShooter Supply sells the complete bolts already modified for $75 as I recall.

The 308 family of magazines seem to work the best, especially when a 223 spacer is used in the back.

The newer centerfeed actions seem to have a greater potential for smooth feeding with these.

Barrels 17" and under are $240, 17-27" $310.

I've got one 17" stainless in stock right now.

Interesting... Will keep that in mind. Too bad I just sold off 500 rounds of 7.62x39. Amazing how 4 years ago you could order 1000 rounds for 69.00 + shipping. Those were the days when such conversions were great.
