![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You need to remember that most lower tier manufactures claim or stamp their barrels 5.56, however they ream their chambers to .223. Unless you have had your chamber reamed to 5.56 or have a Colt, LMT, Defensive Edge, Noveske or Daniel Defense you could be facing overpressure issues. The RRA .223 Wylde is closer to .223 than 5.56. Ned Christiansen explains the issues on his website: Michiguns Ltd. - AR-15 Tools and Accessories The info is under the 5.56 chamber reamer link.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Take a look at this. http://www.ar15barrels.com/data/223vs556.pdf Worst case you can finish ream a .223 chamber with a 5.56 finish reamer and be safe. The main difference is in the throat length. What makes this so confusing is that the military measures chamber at the case mouth while SAAMI measures at the midpoint of the case. The numbers at NOT directly correlated to one another. So you cannot directly compare chamber pressure specs for .223 and 5.56.

![]() ![]() ![]() | I will give a +1 to the plinker plus, its a very good rifle for the money, it will do the job, when picking one out you might try the triggers any on the shelf and get the best of what you have available. The triggers are the worst part of the Plinker plus Also buy a sight adjustment tool with the gun it will save you a bunch of hassle, you can adjust the sights with a bullet but that is time consuming and will leave a copper track on your sights.
