Russian SKS composite stock value ?

I took an unfired Russian SKS 1954r (Tula) with a beautiful composite wood stock to the Indy 1500 and couldn't get anyone interested in it at $400. Was I asking too much or did I just not find the right person?

The SKS/AR/AK buying fiasco is pretty much over IMO. You might want to bring it down to $325.

I think the majority of people already have their SHTF rifles and you'd be hard pressed to sell it at that price.

sks' are pretty much like the mosin nagants everywhere you look youll pretty much see one.i tend to giggle everytime i see one for $400+.the most id be asking for it if i was in your position would be $300.

I was offered an SKS still in cosmoline in a shop today for $300. I think pretty much everyone has one. I'd say the realistic price range is $250-$325.

I just can't justify that much for an SKS when I remember buying them for $99 in the cosmoline. I would go $250 on a nice one.

What year is your SKS and was it made in Tula or Izhevsk?

Some years are very rare and if its made in Izhevsk it should be worth more than $400.

I don't think your price is out of line, just the gun market is very slow right now. If you are not in need of money, put it on GB and sit back, it will sell spring time once the economy starts picking up again.

A nice Chinese or Yugo is worth these days at least $250, I think a nice, all matching and unmolested Russian is worth at least $150 extra.
