Local shop M1A score !!!

I visited a local shop this morning and they had a couple of new M1As on the wall, then I spotted a used one for $1149.00.

Asked to check it out, had the old plain jane brown synthetic stock, a cheap uncle Mikes leather sling and the white sight and FH protectors.

Then I noticed the 7.62mm stamped on the heel and a s/n in the 46K range !!! Yes, another preban...... looked for USGI parts and found the bolt is TRW, barrel is an HR from 7-60. I then asked if I could disassemble it, after getting the OK I found the trigger housing to be TRW, an SA op-rod and the saftey and hammer are HR-N.... all USGI components and it came with an OM 20 rnd mag too.

Now I asked the salesman to see what the best price was on it, I used to part time there so the owner hassled me some that they havent forgotten when I purchased all of their 7.62 real cheap before the increase..... then said they could go $1049.00 cash. So, needless to say I passed.... Yeah right....

I have ditched the leather sling for a canvas, gave her a detailed cleaning and even fired 14 or 15 rounds that I had in a mag already loaded (50 yds behind my house) : (my son now tells me it was 14 shots, 7 each)
