Mossberg 835 vs 535

Ok, dumb question; what's the difference? other than $50 that is.

The 835 barrel is overbored to 10 gauge. I don't believe the 535 barrel is overbored.
I don't have any experience with the 535, but have had my 835 for over 13 years, hunted everything from doves, geese, turkeys and deer, and shot skeet, trap, and sporting clays with it.
(I have an 870 that takes a back seat to my 835)

^^^ Yep. The difference is the ID of the barrel. The 535 is capable of using slugs while the 835 is not because of the overboring.

Mossberg sells a rifled slug barrel for the 835. That's what I've killed all my deer with.

i BELIEVE that the 835 barrels are interchangable with the 500 the 535 barrels are all on there own. i could be wrong about this i just seam to remember reading this

I knew that the 835 and the 535 were both chambered for 3 1/2". I noticed both are on sale at Cabela's w/28" fied barrells and slug barrells, just didn't know the difference between the two guns.
