Hold up well.

Although.... you have to "fit" the ATI sock to keep it reliable as there is or at least was a moulding problem with the ATI stock itself.

Go here for more info.: Hi-Point Firearms Forums :: View Forum - Hi-Point Carbines

Or specifically here: Hi-Point Firearms Forums :: View topic - Stryker1 install Guide for the ATI Stock.

You know... I had a H/P .380 one upon a time ago... and I had a really bad experience with it. But, I've heard nothing but great things about the rifles. I might want to try it out.

Anything with a detachable magazine could be a problem some places unless you're careful not to violate their magazine limits.

How about a side-by-side 12ga "coach gun"? I can't think of anything farther from an "evil black rifle," and it should be legal anywhere that guns are no banned completely. It takes a little extra practice/instructions with ammo management, but you can use one for defense pretty well.

With shipping and transfer you can still be under $200 on a Hi-Point Carbine.
I have 2, my wife appropriated the first one.
I've had the one for 6+ yrs put 1000 rds thru it.
Still shoots like a new one.
I don't care for Hi-Point Pistols but the carbines are Sweet.
I highly recommend them.

Hi-Point only makes a 10rd mag for the carbine so it shouldn't be a problem.
You can get a 2 mad pouch that attaches to the but stock.
So loading would be easy and quick.

Situation solved. I stopped by a local dealer who personally picked up a Remington wingmaster police trade in "kinda on accident" and immediately realized that he has no use for it. I just sold some ammo, and the wife is out of town... So, tomorrow I pick up the answer to the OP.

I will post pics if all goes well.

Now to work on the box...

P.S. I was just "stopping by to say hi" and pickup a couple of boxes of 7.62x39, I was not really shopping... And the prices at the Ace Pawn on walnut were overpriced. Not as bad as Don's Guns, but still more than I would consider.

I will need to keep an eye on the smaller gun shops for a deal.
crack shots in anderson had a bullpup mossberg 12ga I looked at the other day....really compact, devastating bang....

ooooh, and $319

Yep. They're ugly and clunky but they shoot surprisingly well. And if they ever fail to operate properly, just sent it back to H/P and they'll make it right. Heck, you can actually send a beat-up and reamed-out old pawn shop buy back to them and they'll refurbishing it for you and throw in a mag or two FREE!!! And if it's too reamed-out, they'll replace it with a new one!! Customer service just doesn't get any better than that!!!

100% American too!!!

So here she is, not very threatening, but plenty effective:

The sights are all that I need them to be (I hate bead only sights):

And the proof marks:

Making it a retired Department of Public Safety rifle. Should do fine...

Not bad for $210 FTF transfer from a known pedigree.
