![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | New Rifle Break In? What do you do with a new rifle? I've read from shoot 100 rounds, broke in, to seriously detailed plans. Shoot 1 shot, pull bore snake through. Shoot 3, pull bore snake. Shoot 5-10 and bore snake, up till 75 rounds. This seems excessive, but he swears that it removes the machining marks without extra damage and makes it more accurate. Any special break in procedures that you like to keep the accuracy?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have two 10/22's that are standard blued. Another is a .223 Saiga AK. On the Saiga forums is where I saw the extensive method. His Saiga .223 is now a "tack driver" after his treatment. How much of that is luck vs. process, I don't know. I never thought of a Saiga as a tack driver capable rifle.
