Scutter - Absolutely nothing wrong with a 10/22. LOTS of customization options. Still, I love my model 60. if you wait 'til the 1500, I'll bet you can pick one up used for less than $100.

I like the GSG! Congrats!

Go to customizing your 10/22 much and you'll quickly have more than the $500 mentioned in it. Not that it's not worth it, just sayin'.

Well, with some of the carbine courses and stuff like Appleseed, I want something I can afford to shoot hundreds of rounds through and that won't kill my shoulder. My AR is too expensive and my Mosin is a bruiser. I've been eyeballing both the 10/22 and the Marlin but frankly, the whole project isn't really at the top of my priority list, so I haven't pursued it yet.

Sorry for the threadjack. Back to talking about the GSG-5!

Bradis had both the GSG-5 rifles and pistols in, per their weekly specials Email last week. $479.95 for the rifle, $499.95 for the pistol, IIRC.

I thought I heard GSG was going to make a .22 AK. Any word on that?

I was hoping to get a GSG5 but got impatient and picked up a Walther G22 with a 3x9 scope at Whittakers a couple weeks ago.

I like the G22, but would love to have the chance to shoot the GSG sometime.

Ooooh! Sweet. I'll try to remember to bring a brick of .22 to the range on Sunday just for it. I have been wanting to play with one for some time.

Couldn't stand it - took it out in the backyard and fired 5 rounds. No jams (duh), and I hit what I was aiming at probably 20 yards away (in a safe direction, of course).
