Paul, great looking M1 Carbine

Paul;

Look’s like a great carbine you got there. Do you mind me asking what you had to give for it? (IM me if you'd like on that question.) I am looking for another one to rebuild and add to my paratrooper model. I see them going from around $500 up for one in decent condition. If you find a complete one in VG to EX condition I know they are in the $1,000 range or higher. I received mine from an estate and at the time it was converted to .223cal so I started off by purchasing a new barrel and receiver and it just grown from that every time I went to a gun show. This is what I ended up with. Still have the standard stock along with a bayonet, lots of clips and also some of the special tools needed to work on the gun.

Do you like the composite stock look? If you want to get a wood stock for it for a more original look you can find them on line or at the gun shows for a reasonable price. The 30 shot mags have now gotten on the pricy side but I believe I bought mine for around $15 each in the late 90’s. I’m looking forward to the Indy Gun Show to see what there in M1 Carbines.

I am sure you will have fun with it as I do. They are great shooters. Enjoy.

I actually got the gun for free. It was my dad's M1 Carbine. He had 4 and now is down to 3. He gave me this gun because i now have reloading equipment (that he gave me) with dies. One of those dies were for the 30 carbine so he had to give me a gun that shot 30 carbine.

I do like the composite stock look because it goes with my AR15. I would love to get another one now with a wood stock, but there really isnt any point since i will get the ones my dad has when he passes away. I might still try to find an original because it is the gun my grandpa carried in WW2.
