| Referring to the .22 recommendations, I am curious as to why nobody has mentioned the Remington (- I think their model is the 597? ) that is comparable to the ruger 10/22. Has anyone had any experience with these, and how do they stack up against the Rugers? I've had the Marlin, and now I am thinking of adding to my .22 arsonal, so I'm trying to decide too... |

| Remington 597 Remington 597 is a good gun but is a hit or miss. They have a lot of magazine feed issues and sometimes you need to buy several mags to find a few good ones. They do make a 25 round mag for them though. When I said it was a Dealer exclusive that does not mean that it won't be available from all dealers. It means that a particlur WHOLESALE dealer contracts with Ruger to have them set up a certain way. If your dealer does not deal with that wholesaler then they won't be available at all dealers. |
