The point is a good one, but scary in it's possibilities for mishandling.

Two points:

1. This was done 15-20 years ago when the first build up to the AWB was beginning and the anti's were trying to split off the hunters from the other shooters because the black rifles were a small and marginalized part of the gun community. Today the black rifle community is the majority of new rifle sales and has exerted it's strength to the hunters, just ask Zumbo how his career is after his disastrous comments about black rifles.

2. Hunting rifles are already on the chopping block. They are just being called "sniper rifles". Anything, ANYTHING, based on a weapon originally based on military tech is on the first round chopping block (think of how many bolt actions this will include!). The next round will be for anything else that has a scope and can take a bipod with work (i.e. hunting rifles). Hunters know this better today than they did a half generation ago. They will not be so easy to peel away this time.
