WTB: Need a RAZR battery

In short, wife's phone battery is dying. Quickly. Her contract is up at the end of October....when we'll be getting new phones.

So, we do not want to buy a NEW phone battery that's only going to be used for a very short term.

Fellow Hoosier shooter-type people, I'm asking if anyone has a RAZR phone battery (Model# MOTV33CBATS A-I-I DC060629) that they'd let go for MINIMAL cash money... I'd definitely pay for shipping to Indianapolis for a chance for you to get rid of a battery.

Please let me know via PM if you can help me out. Thanks.

I don't know who your carrier is, but sometimes they'll let you switch phones before the end of the contract if you sign a new 2-year. I don't know if that's your plan anyway; if so, you'd not be losing anything. Otherwise, you might try deep-cycling the battery a couple of times or if worst comes to worst, pick up a cheapo special that will let her put her sim card in and get her through to the end of Oct.

(needless to say, I don't have a RAZR battery to send, or I would.)

Blessings,
B

Gosh, the thought never crossed my mind about renewing early! Doh! Thing is, we don't know which provider to go with.

Right now, in Indiana, ATT/Cingular has the best physical coverage, but Verizon has made VAST improvements in the last 7 years since I began traveling to-and-fro about the state... Call it 45/55 in favor of ATT.

She's with Verizon, I'm with Cingular/ATT. I've been on month-to-month for like 4 years now...hehe. She gets a teacher discount through her work, I get an employee discount through where I work... Who knows what we'll do!

If you have Verizon as your cellular carrier they will re up your contract 90 days before the end of the existing contract without tacking on additional time. So you can get a new 1 or 2 year contract now and not have to be tied in to it expiring next Oct., just expire from the date you get the new phone.

Been doing this for 8 years, nice to get that new phone 3 months early.

BTW as a warning to people to want to by the RAZR, it has 2 glaring problems since it's release that are battery related. First problem is that it develops a short in the phone that drains the battery, second is that the batteries life span is about 1 year before it starts to fail.
Know this as a fact because Verizon has replace 1 phone and 4 batteries for me in the time I've had the RAZR.

I'm also on AT&T, formerly Cingular, formerly AT&T, formerly Ameritech, (which AT&T bought up and Borg-ified), and had the same # through most of them. I've talked to others who have Verizon, but it's never been enough to sway me to the Dark Side. If the service is roughly equal, I guess the deciding factor is who has better benefits (ie who can you talk to free on mobile-to-mobile, when do nights and weekends start, do you get them free...) and who has better phones.

Deep-cycling the phone should work or worst-case, get her a cheapo that she can just stick a simcard in, if no one has a battery that will help you.

Blessings,
B

I've been on some battery websites... the Q isn't listed with all the RAZRs for the phones that this particular battery will fit. Doh!

Will keep hunting, though.

Amazon has factory batteries for about $8 shipping included. Wish I had an extra to send your way, but the RAZR user in my household is a 13 year-old girl, which means 2 batteries and a 2 year contract will be a pretty close call...
