![]() ![]() | WTB or WTT: 1911 mainspring housing Hello, This is not urgent at all, but it's the one little thing that's not quite right on my 1911. The MSH is undersized. There's pivot on the pin, and though it's not dangerous, it is annoying. I slipped in a plastic MSH from a Kimber, and it fit perfectly. However, it's an arched MS and plastic, and I will use neither. I tried to peen a rail as suggested on a 1911 website. I expected it to chip and it did, but I didn't peen a critical place, so it's perfectly usable. If anyone has a properly sized flat, metal, MSH laying around, shoot me a price and we'll see if I can do it. I just paid a bunch of school bills so I can't afford new quite yet. Thanks, Josh <>< |
