I am starting to see the usual liberal elitist spin about the Republican candidates. The Republicans traditionally have usually tried to paint the Democrats as big spenders. On the opposing side, the liberal elitists, usually associated with the Democrats, try to paint the Republican candidates as "to stupid to run the country". I hear this now about McCain, he is too out of touch, he is too old, all implying that he doesn't have the brains to do the job. I heard it from liberal elitists now about Palin. She is just too stupid to do the job.

The liberal elitist said it about Bush until the GPAs of Kerry and Gore turned out to be lower, then they dropped it, even though they made their impression on the sheep who kept it up.

They said it about Reagan, "Ronnie Raygun". Too stupid and dangerous to have his finger on the button.

Hmmm, I would like to see Obama's GPA, which he won't release, probably for a good reason. It might detract from his "brilliant" moniker from the liberal elitists.

Calling your opponent stupid and; thereby, dismissing any debate is an easy way to deflect scrutiny of the issues.

The Democrats have been in charge of the Congress and have done nothing about the current crisis, yet claim no responisbility.

Conservatives loved Bush because he was "resolute" when all it was was him being unwilling to look at facts & say "I was wrong". That's not a noble trait in my opinion.
How is this any different?

If you look with an open mind I think you will see that both sides spin. I see the same conservative elitist spin about the Demcrats.

The Democrats in Congress were given the huge mess we are in now. Sure they haven't done much to fix it but when you have a President that is unwilling to change his mind about anything its not easy.

In case you haven't noticed our governmnt is set up so that no branch can easily run over the others. The only thing that they can do is say "no". If all don't say "yes" then things don't change.

Calling your opponent an "elitist" or unpatriotic and, thereby, dismissing any debate is an easy way to deflect scrutiny of the issues.

If the Democrats need to face up their shortcomings then so do the Republicans.

Then when which ever is elected we stand behind them until an impeachable offense occurs and proceed accordingly. There is no perfect candidate, just two men, who want to be president. Until the bickering and backbiting which gets oh so dirty goes away no president will ever truly have the opportunity to change this country.

Look at the economy right now. You really think that the only thing wrong is the housing market? We are spending huge sums of money on the Iraq war. The national debt is at record levels & increasing daily. If the goal was to cause economic hardship then I can see where someone could claim success.

IIRC, the OBL mission was to kick the infidels out of the Middle East.
BTW, the article says that OBL has clearly outlined his strategy,
do you know where I can find a copy of that?
Have you not seen any of His videoes or reporting on them? He used the words "quagmire" & compared our situation to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

I'll see if I can find one of hundreds of articles that spell it out for you. Google works for anti-Republican articles just as well as anti-Democrat ones.

2nd Point: if you believe the author's spin and vote for Obama
because of this reason ...you are a sheep.
I do believe the author. I have seen too much information that backs up his story not to.

Does that mean I will vote for Obama based on this one article? Nope. But taken in its entirety, the information that I've read tells me there is no clearly superior candidate in this election.

McCain was pretty decent at one point until he started moving closer to Bushes ideas.

No sheep around my house.

No matter what branch of the government is in the White House, the Democrat controlled congress controlled what came to the floor. They could have brought something to the floor but did not, even when the Administration asked them to. So you are right, if the Administration want something done and the Congress wants to play politics, this is what happens.

McCain was pretty decent, as you say, and every Democrats favorite Republican, until he started to run for President. Now the opposing side has to demonize him and I can see they have succeeded, at least with you.

I do not think you are being very open minded yourself. Obama comes from dirty Chicago politics. Look up how he won the his Senate seat. Pure Chicago politics. McCain has been in the Senate for a long time and has a solid record of votes which you can look up. Being a Senator means you have a voting record. Having a voting record means that you have to work with both sides. Working with both sides give the opposition plenty of ammunition. Having a voting record is one of the reasons that Senators usually loose their Presidential bid. That is also one of the reasons that Governors usually run and win. They have experience in a typical Administrative position. We now have two Senators running so the choice is whether you want a crusty old bast*** that has been in Washington for a long time or a corrupt Chicago politition for President?

I don't understand. The Democrats have only been in charge since January of last year. Bush had 6 years of Republican complicity in his "war on...". The damage was already done when the Democrats came to power

Are you saying that the Democrats should give Bush whatever he wants (just like the Republicans? - look how well that worked) & if not then they are playing politics? Congress' approval rating was only a little above Bushes when the Democrats took over. It dropped further because people voted them in to change things then (due to the political process) nothing did. People fail to realize that without working together neither branch can accomplish anything. Bush's refusal to admit mistakes makes it very difficult to work with him on anything, so nothing changes.

Nothing to do with the "opposing side demonizing him". I liked McCain in the last Presidential election until he lost (& Bush beat him) in the primaries. Pretty much after that point he has moved sharply to the right (and/or toward Bush) & away from his "maverick" reputation. That's when he started losing the support of conservative/moderate Democrats. I guess since he's so old, this is his last chance & he better not blow it.

Yes we spend about 200 Billion annually on the war. Why not worry about the 385 Billion we are losing to illegal immigration. In Tax, welfare and social security fraud.

And as far as the war is concerned it, like many of are recent conflicts would have already been over if you could get the politicians to quit playing arm-chair generals!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about this:

The main fear here is a collapse brought on by panic following a collapse of the credit we are addicted to (yeah, me too on that one). If that panic is the great fear how about we stop with the President and Pelosi coming on TV and saying:

"WE HAVE TO DO THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!"

"TALK IS DELAY!"

"THE FOUR HORSEMEN HAVE BEEN SIGHTED IN CANADA RIDING SOUTH!"

Every time I hear them both speak on the radio, I do not feel resolute or encouraged about the leadership that will guide us all through this storm. Instead what I get is a strong urge to empty what money I have and invest in flour, weat, sugar, fuel, and anything else that might help me ride out the Mad Max times that must be around the corner.

You want to reduce panic? Tell Pelosi and Bush to shut it and let the members of Congress work something out. I am not scared when Congress is bickering, I am scared when they all point in the same direction and say, "We are told we have to do this or else!"

They could have done plenty and if it was that important or if they even recognized any problem, they could have brought something to the floor in Pelosi's first 100 days. Problem is, they were addicted to the money flowing out of the now "in crisis" companies for their campaigns. You see to think that the Dems have no responsibility in this when they are hip deep as are many of Congress on both sides are. You also seem to forget that many of these regulations were changed to allow "minorities" that had been denied to be able to get a loan, a Democrat issue, which in turn lead to the abuse of the regulations. Plenty of blame to go around if you are not wearing blinders.

Check out this post. You will learn something about the current "crisis".
