Does anyone know of any gun ban revokes. How difficult it is to re-introduce guns after they've been banned. It be tough right?

I had a Political Science professor from Purdue that used to live in Great Britain for a few years. We were studying their electoral system and he was telling us about when he lived there, some of the cool things. But, he said, he had his garage broken into constantly. He said property thefts and crimes are just normal. I guess they are a bunch of thieves over there. He said one of the big problems they are having with the violent crimes is "hooliganism". Basically, drunk or high teenagers running around with nothing to do so they break stuff and beat people up for fun.

I would hate to live there for simple reason of not being able to protect myself or my property. It would be cool to live in Europe though, just to travel.

Umemployment among those 25 and under is very high. Since a socialised labour force locks older people into jobs and discourages invention and initiative, many Britons are little to do but drink and get into trouble. In America these same individuals would be working and raising families.

Crimes that your professor complained about are often not reported by the police. Did he tell you of the police power in the UK? The protetive orders?

The police have long been manipulating the numbers by checking the theft box for burglaries and robberies or simply not reporting crimes.

Several UK ex-pats have described the crime situation in the UK in mags such as The American Spectator. It is not pretty.



So the politicians and "experts" among the bureaucrats and policacrats can exert greater and greater control over your freedom and property.

I might add that crimes that do not result in a conviction are not reported at all on official stats.

Gotta love statistics.

Here are some stats for the US and Canada.

Between 1962 and 2006, the violent crime rate in Canada, per 100,000, went from 221 to 951, a 430% increase.

Between 1962 and 2006, the violent crime rate in the US, per 100,000, went from 162 to 473, a 291% increase.

Violent crime per 100K is twice as much in Canada than the US. Sure, gun crime is higher than Canada because of more guns and because they are more available, but we still have fewer violent crimes. Compare that to the article. Sure there are recording differences, but if 1/2 of the UK stats are wrong, violent crimes are still higher by more than twice.

Just the DC handgun ban...But I haven't heard much on that lately.
