Last time I was in London they there were no gun signs on most public doors and in theaters my wife's purse was searched. Very vigilant. I didn't carry my knife as I didn't want it taken.

A friend's son was just there for two weeks (with a girlfriend from GB). He reported back that he hung out with a bunch of the guys in her old neighborhood and did "you know...guy stuff...just hanging out." He said they were all completely amazed that you could just "walk into a store and buy a gun" in America. He actually had people coming to him just to hear him say it again because they did not believe it.

Were all the Brits safer without guns in the hands of the public? Nope, not a bit. In fact, he said that EVERY SINGLE DAY while he was hanging out with the boys (while GF was off with the girls), they practiced knife fighting in the park. He said everyone he met had at least one knife if not more on them at all times and that they seemed to be very good during knife fighting practice.

I suppose if knives are outlawed, the boys will practice with rocks, then clubs.

The moral of the story is that in GB, you have to take a KNIFE to a KNIFE FIGHT.

Does anyone know of any gun ban revokes. How difficult it is to re-introduce guns after they've been banned. It be tough right?

The Brits know what a big mistake they made. Now they realize they cant do anything about it. Its all about control. Listen to the man the government cant control the criminals so they control the law abiding because its easier.

I had a Political Science professor from Purdue that used to live in Great Britain for a few years. We were studying their electoral system and he was telling us about when he lived there, some of the cool things. But, he said, he had his garage broken into constantly. He said property thefts and crimes are just normal. I guess they are a bunch of thieves over there. He said one of the big problems they are having with the violent crimes is "hooliganism". Basically, drunk or high teenagers running around with nothing to do so they break stuff and beat people up for fun.

I would hate to live there for simple reason of not being able to protect myself or my property. It would be cool to live in Europe though, just to travel.

Umemployment among those 25 and under is very high. Since a socialised labour force locks older people into jobs and discourages invention and initiative, many Britons are little to do but drink and get into trouble. In America these same individuals would be working and raising families.

Crimes that your professor complained about are often not reported by the police. Did he tell you of the police power in the UK? The protetive orders?

Just the DC handgun ban...But I haven't heard much on that lately.
