You are hard pressed to get 20000 people to inconvenience themselves by gathering and standing up for their rights, without months of planning and promotion of the idea. But 100000 people will at the drop of a hat, stop whatever they have going on in life to race to and mourn a child molester that died from a drug overdose. The majority of the people in this country are so insatiably clueless it is completely mind boggling...

Do we really want those people standing next to us in our fight for anything?

This MJ Memorial event would be one Al Queda plot I might be tempted to turn a blind eye towards.
That was a sad attempt at natural selection humor.

However the fact remains that there is a huge population of the world that is willing to overlook the monsters because of what they "bring to the party".

I for one do not believe we should immortalize that twisted "king of pop" any more than a footnote in our history about what happens when a child is exploited and abused, then given the keys to a kingdom.

I am completely baffled by the MJ junk. I've seen cars around town that have the windows painted in memory of him. I think more people need to be more embarrassed more often. Then I see LGBT day or something in the White House and can't figure out how that can get a whole month dedicated to it, another bunch that should really be embarrassed and ashamed who have instead decided to prance around, all the while rights are being taken away.

, I agree completely. Glad to see I'm not the only one who finds all of the mind-numbingly senseless news coverage every day about all of these celebrities disgusting. Don't get me wrong, they're not all horrible people, I know some celebrities do good with their money, but most seem to buy drugs and plastic surgery.

Let's not forget the fact that our brothers and sisters are all over the world fighting on our behalf every day, yet seem to get no news coverage unless something "big" happens. Personally, I'd like there to be a section on the news each and every day about the war, if nothing else to just remind people that people are risking their lives for their freedom. And these celebrities who so many people are idolizing and worshipping risk nothing by comparison, yet get all of the attention. That's just sick and twisted if you ask me.
