![]() | Congratulations...........I've been a little leary of packing since this B.S. started. I think the permit is issued by the information in the State Police records system. They rely on the counties to report to them as well as other States. I have found, as I'm sure your well aware of by now, it's easy to have botched record. A friend of mine's sister works in the firearms records division ,downtown indy, she tells of very limited reporting and long record transit time from courts, if at all. So when IMPD pulls your info up they may have things Jefferson County Sheriff dosen't,as well as the State Trooper checking your DL, just an example but i'm sure the FBI is somewhat more dedicated in their search for some way to screw you around. Having a permit in Indiana dosen't do squat for you in terms of a purchase (leagally) you could buy from someone FTF and carry under leagal pretenses, but if the FBI dosen't clear your name your a felon twice according to them. When the ATF comes to your door with a warrant I personnaly wouldn't know what to do ?? After talking to the NICS they claim they don't communicate with the ATF and denied knowing how they (ATF) could be aware of an attempt to purchase a firearm just by my FFL calling in to do the customary check prior to a sale. So somebody's full of shit in my mind. I just can't figure out which branch of the gov. it is. I spoke with my lawer and he says wait out the NICS, FBI, and the ATF, if it goes down unfavorably we will force our hand of truth on them. The saga continues...................

| Walking Tall Amongst The Sheeple | you make some good points. The thing is though, that I've never lived anywhere else besides Indy and Southern Indiana. The only trouble I've been in with the law is locally. I've followed the paper trail myself and there is nothing that disqualifies me one bit. So if the denial stands I will be suing someone. BTW, not to question your judgement, but how good is your lawyer? LOL I may need one if the time comes. I doubt it will and I'll be in their VAF file so I don't forsee any problems in the future, but a "just in case" plan B is never a bad thing... BTW, you can still pack all you want until the appeal is final. That was something I asked the ATF guy. He said it was ok unless the appeal fell through and the denial stuck. But that I would get a letter stating one way or another and that's when you're either ok or a no-no. Also, the NICS divison supercedes the ATF. If the ATF says no, and NICS says yes, you're good. You may have to jump some legal holes, but you're good none the less. From my understanding of the whole process. I could be wrong so correct me if I am, but that's basiclly how the NICS lady explained it to me. ![]()

| Walking Tall Amongst The Sheeple | I figured since I have two copier/printer/scanners no one wants to buy, I'd just scan all the paperwork, blacking out the personal stuff, so that everyone can see what the process looks like and the BS they tell you. Unfortunately I already sent in the VAF form, but it's downloaded in PDF form. Anyone can get it from the NICS website. I was just gonna scan all the letter crap so you can all see the BS they put you through. ![]()
