There is a core of pro-gun progressives at dailykos. There may even be a guy who runs under the name bluedotredfield who tried for ages to make the pro-gun message there and even got quoted in a national article (can't remember where that was) about Obama and guns hurting him.

I don't go there much any more (I have left the Dem party). But as proof that there are plenty of Dems/LibertarianLeaningExProgressives these are links to what I wrote there. FYI, I am not completely in line with what I wrote then, but make what you will of it. Oh, and I did find a handful of fellow thinkers in the midst of taking serious ridicule and thumps.

The Federal agents one was top article on the site for over 24 hours which shows that plenty of Dems are sensitive to the Libertarian message and concern about government size. The one about Obama got quoted in a national web site showing Dems are in fear of gun owners and our voting block. On the other hand, the time I spent there I was called all sorts of names with variants of troll being the most common. Other gun owners are still there carrying on the fight, but I rarely go anymore.

But, seriously, the most important lesson here is that there are lots of potential gun owners, and current gun owners that could be won over if we delivered the message right. Once here they will change over time, or not. But they will help us all.

Just like the Pink Pistols and others, pro-gun friends come from the least expected corners of America, and we should do our best to bring them into the pro-gun fold. We need all the friends we can get!

this is the exact reason that everyone of us need to be in contact with our local,state,and national governments to preserve our rights, or let me rephrase that the ones that we have left, another thing, if there are so many pro-gun libs and cons why do we have this problem? the very few with the power to do so are putting there beliefs into law, we the people need to speak up. Just like 4sarge, JOIN NRA, GOA or something
if you dont vote you cant bitch about it, just pay attention to what is going on around all of us.
