I'm a member/participant on Baen's Bar which very much leans sharply to the right. I've even got a livejournal account where I discuss guns, political issues, and so forth. And I've never been shy about using my real, full name.

(You hear that Mr. Political Overseer. That's David L. Burkhead. Make sure you spell it right.)

Evil and tyranny will not be overcome by people hiding from it. (Not saying that you're hiding from it, but this whole, "the government may be using that to track...." concept leads in that direction.)

You make good points and I'm not so much worried about them seeing my posts and what not, but I do look up some questionable things.

That, too, is something I simply refuse to worry about. I'm a writer for crying out loud. I research things that some folk would consider "questionable" all the time.

It's truly amazing what you can get away with asking if you tell someone you are a fiction writer. I know someone (wasn't me--never worked on a story in that vein) who called a chemical supply house and asked how much of a particular acid (forget which) it would take to dissolve a human body, how long it would take, and whether the result would go down a common bathtub drain and through the pipes. Person on the other end answered apparently without batting an eye.
