It's truly amazing what you can get away with asking if you tell someone you are a fiction writer. I know someone (wasn't me--never worked on a story in that vein) who called a chemical supply house and asked how much of a particular acid (forget which) it would take to dissolve a human body, how long it would take, and whether the result would go down a common bathtub drain and through the pipes. Person on the other end answered apparently without batting an eye.

Again, good points. I used to be a big pyro. It really sucks when you realize you can no longer blow things up because you now live in town and they have laws against that...
