![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My email to Home Depot Here is my ranting email I sent off to Home Depot today after reading the article below. I understand company policy but in my opinion they are way out of line. Article: Fired for God pin I talked to a very knowledgeable Home Depot rep at the IEC show in St Louis and he had me convinced to switch my contractors account from Lowes to you. I am also in the process of looking for a generator for my home, purchasing flooring for my home, and I need to remodel a new store we are opening up in the spring. In total this will only amount to $10,000-$20,000 in business for your local Fort Wayne and Auburn stores. We also buy tools and equipment all year long from Lowes and Menards which probably only amounts to $3000-$5000 annually. I was looking forward to moving my accounts to Home Depot in the next few days. Then I read a news story today about a kid in Florida getting fired over a button with a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance on it because it's against store policy. My companies only do business with businesses that support our great country. If having a portion of The Pledge of Allegiance on a button is against store policy then accepting American Currency should be as well, since it contains the words "In God We Trust". This may sound outlandish but so does firing someone for being patriotic. Maybe you should consider supporting the things that made this country great and provided you with the opportunities to have a thriving business. Lots of men and women have given their lives defending the meaning behind The Pledge of Allegiance and you took it upon yourselves to disrespect them and our country. I will continue to do business elsewhere and I will steer all of the contractors and customers I deal with on a daily basis away from your stores. Don't bite the hand that feeds you!
