There is special election held for Saint Joseph and Porter counties tomorrow (November 3rd).

If the counties vote YES we will be in for HIGHER income taxes!

St Joseph & Porter Counties vote November 3, 2009.

Wife and I are voting and I have been informing all at work as well. What a waste of money. St. Joe county just had a 1% increase in income tax and I don't want any more. GET OUT AND VOTE.

Check your polling sites...not all of them are going to be open, yours may be moved if it is a small one. (mine was)

In St. Joe county I think you can call the voter registration # and they can tell you where your supposed to go. 574 235 9521 (8am to 4:30PM). My normal place is open so I got lucky.

After work: bought LPK, struck out looking for a roll punch set, voted down new taxes, got my property tax bill in the mail ;-(. I guess they'll get their money one way or the other just have to make it as hard as possible for them to do so.

Beech Grove has been trying to promote a vote Yes for Beech Grove kids. They are saying that if you vote yes, they get to keep the additional taxes from property taxes so they can keep their buses running.
In 2010 a mandate for property taxes to not exceed 1% of the property value is to go into effect. So if you vote yes, you are voting for higher taxes...
I just love how they use the kids...it's for the kids. So they are saying that if they don't get the YES vote, they'd rather cut bus routing instead of some silly sports program or other school activity that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual education for the children. I did not see any opposing campaigning for this. I actually didn't even know what the "Vote Yes for Beech Grove Kids" was all about until I got a mailer about it in which they were promoting the Yes vote, and that is when I read thru the bull to see I would be voting for higher property taxes if I followed their propaganda.
