| Master ![]() | Gun expert claims feds punishing him From Gun expert claims feds punishing him "A gun expert who testified against the government when David Olofson was on trial for loaning to an acquaintance a gun that misfired now says the government is punishing him for that testimony. The allegation comes from Len Savage, who runs Historic Arms LLC and works with antique and historic weapons as well as weapons design and parts for gun makers. His testimony in the Olofson case, in Berlin, Wis., harshly criticized the government's weapons testing procedures. In that case, the defendant was convicted and sentenced to 30 months in jail for loaning a rifle that misfired, letting off three bullets at one time. The government then classified it a machine gun, and convicted Olofson of "transferring" such a weapon. He surrendered to federal authorities just a few weeks ago to begin serving his term, prompting the Gun Owners of America to issue a warning about the owner's liability should any semi-automatic weapon ever misfire." The article is very long if you want to read the rest. I hope this is the correct place to post this.

![]() | I posted: You are right Ruler4you, we gave them this power to stomp us under their boots. We allowed every agency to be formed, allowed every enforcement tactic (even the underhanded ones) and we allow it to continue. The great problem, with any government or governmental agency, is that when they are empowered to do something, it is almost impossible to stop them from continuing it. The bad policies become entrenched and takes years to dig out, if ever. Government, IE. politicians and agency heads, like power, it is like a drug, and they will never relinquish it, unless forced to do so by the combined power of the citizenry, which very seldom happens. How many times has a citizen asked why they are being abused, in one way or another, and get the answer of, "because we can"? People who are supposed to be concerned with our rights, violating our rights, simply because they can, and they usually get away with it, which only makes them bolder to do it again. We allowed it, by our apathy. And in the end, we are the only ones who can change it. That change is brought about at the ballot box. The politicians who do their own thing and not the will of the people they are supposed to serve, can be voted out of office. They can be pressured by the concentrated lobbying of their voters, but only the ballot ends abuse. We need to get rid of the BAFTE and their abusive tactics, just trimming them down will not work. |
