To be fair, there's a LOT of methane produced by swine and cattle farms. I'd rather put it to some productive use instead of smelling it.

Random thought: assuming that cow-methane was 'farmed' to a large degree (or mined, though 'cow-mining just sounds odd), what would that do to local climates? Right now all that gas goes into the atmosphere and contributes in some degree to localized climate change. I'm assuming that we'd see the opposite effect to the climate if we were to mass-collect that methane with any real efficiency. I think too much...

Just how do we collect methane from cows? I can't even begin to picture this and whatever device that would be used PETA would have a cow
