+1 Techres

+1 Techres, but -1 Martinsville residents for calling the cops on us The politzi were cool though.

Techres is a stand up guy, paid cash, which is just as good as money. Great guy, deal with confidently.

Some ar-tard called the cops b/c they saw someone selling a gun in a Burger King parking lot. Police showed up on the double quick, blocked us in (except me!!, I could have ran and led them on a 45 min high speed chase up 67) and ran a serial number check on the gun. Funny thing is some kid from the Burger King (worked there) came out as he saw the cop cars (he was on his cellular) and talked to them when I was leaving. I would not be suprised if it was him who called the politzi (douche!).

Police were funny. Young and old guy. Old guy was a riot. He had mentioned that he would never carry a "gun with a barrel this long" (didnt call it a 1911) and asked if it was 9mm. I said no, .45. I looked at his belt and he had a Glock 23, to which I said, hey, you guys carry the shorter model, the model 23. The old cop cut me off with a glance and said, and I quote (in a way that stated that he was the only one professional enough to do so): "Yes, we carry the Glock .40". I stood there shocked for a moment, not knowing whether to laugh, cry, go into the fetal position, grab his taser and zap myself, and so on. It took me everything not to laugh. Techres was cool about it, he uses the 23 for pin shoots, which he mentioned after the Glock 40 comment, apparently handling the professional quote very well, better than I.

The older officer simply gave us back our IDs and thanked us for our cooperation and patience. On the way back, I just had to blare some Tupac Shakur, it was only fitting...

I thought the cops were fine. They simply wanted to run a check to see if the gun was stolen. They did not ask for the two I was carrying, or the Ak or shotgun in my open trunk. More than anything, the police never questioned the legality of the transaction at all. The older guy had an NRA sticker in his window too.

All in all I thought it was fine and thought of it as a gun background check that I got for free.

It did not have any of the following experiences:

1. Scratching of firearms: like when they are tossed onto long tables for the press to take free pictures of.
2. Undue Anxiety: like when the police freak when they discover just how undergunned a glock 23 can be.
3. Boring Educational Lessons: like when people have to learn just how legal FTF transactions are, say, post-arrest.
4. High Temp Facials: like when the asphalt your face is pinned to by a knee has gotten warm in the sun's gaze.
5. Noisy Blather: The high pitched screeching of someone who things he can talk his way out of handcuffs just because he actually IS right.
6. Messy Scenes: Like when your car contents have been tossed and you are now expected to re-pack it alone.
7. Gaudy Jewelry: Those shiny linked bracelets that begin to burn when they are just a little too tight behind your little fat torso.

So I laughed it off and went on from there...

I will however, choose a better meet spot next time!
